Recently, I've been musing over the fact that kid/animated movies these days are defiantly not what they used to be. There always has to be some pop culture pun or really immature humor, serious or emotional moments are rare, or just a simple conversation.

This is why most of Disney's live action movies are lame and their CGI movies, mostly Chicken Little and The Wild, bombed. Meet The Robinsons was showing some recovery, but I hated the way it ended. Bolt was a true Disney movie and it restored a bit of faith. But many other kid/animated movies outside of Disney are fail too, Dreamworks has not been doing well, Kung Fu Panda was good though.

Anyway, I just found out about this new animated movie coming out in September called 9, which was based off of a Oscar Nominated animated short in 2005. It looks incredible, it has a dark, mysterious atmosphere and unusual and unique characters. Best of all it's being produced by Tim Burton so safe to say, it will be fantastic. We need more animated movies like 9.
